ומינה מה שתויי יין דמחלי עבודה אף פרועי ראש דמחלי עבודה קשיא

— He answered: Were itwritten, 'They shall not let [their hair] grow to become 'pera''; it wouldhave meant what you suggest. But since the text reads, And their locks [pera']they shall not let grow, it implies that they may let it become 'pera'' butthereafter must not let it grow longer.
